Review for the JLPT at Nihongo Center Foundation July 31, 2009

My admin page kept on showing interesting search results for the past week. I am happy to note that many people are actually looking for a school for JLPT review. Look no further. Nihongo Center Foundation offers review classes for JLPT – I don’t know about level 4. Level 1 and 2 classes will start in August (ack!) and Level 3 probably in October. Call up the Manila school at 735-7179. This is in Morayta, right in front of FEU Gym.

Are the classes effective, you ask. I passed JLPT 2 in one take. Still, it will depend on the student. But I assure you that you will get your money’s worth when you study at NCF.

The JLPT Battle Plan? May 12, 2009

A little late to be doing this, since I originally planned to start in January 2009. But as my friend Dow used to say “huli man at magaling, undertime pa rin”. Oops, wrong quote.  “Huli man daw at magaling, naihahabol din”. Or something like that. Better late than never, yeah?

１級は難しいかもしれませんが、試したいと思います。実は、いろいろ悩んでいて、レビュークラスに参加できなくて、とてもがっかりしました。これから、どうするのか、迷っています。漢字、文法、語彙。。。勉強しなければならないことが山ほどあります。１２月までに、できるかな。キイナさんと同じような記憶力があったら、いいなと思っている。まあ、しょうがないから。頑張ります！

So the battle plan. Well, it is not yet complete. I’ve realized the hard way that the original plan of time boxing will not work for JLPT1 (or 2, for that matter). I simply cannot accomplish much with the original plan of a little bit of this and that. While time boxing is good to help you move forward, what you did is simply just a drop in the ocean. So I have scrapped that, and decided that I will dedicate at least 2 hours of JLPT study per day.

JLPT moments and my life as a teacher (so far) December 6, 2008

I just learned this morning that I have to be a JLPT 4 proctor tomorrow. And here I was, thinking I could spend one quiet Sunday snoozing all day. OK, maybe not so quiet, because everyone will be watching Manny Pacquiao’s match tomorrow and will most probably be screaming their lungs out at the TV.

 

Only a few hours more till the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. Again, I won’t be taking the exam this year. I’ve put off 1kyuu for several years now, working as exam proctor instead. I did try to study for 1kyuu on my own, but it was not possible considering my busy schedule, since I have 2 jobs. Also, it is not going to be easy, since I still need to review everything in 2kyuu before I proceed with 1kyuu material. I will probably just review 2kyuu for the rest of the year, then enrol in the 1kyuu review class next year.

I got a new baito, a 3-day stint, as a main proctor for the JLPT. Main proctor?? As in administer the entire exam to a classroom of students! Nyaaaa….

I hope they assign me to the level 3 or level 4 exam. I might not be confident enough giving the exam to level 2 people eventhough I already passed that level. Since it’s Mrs. Aquino, I couldn’t say no. ^_~ Oh well…

Anyone who’s interested in becoming main proctors? Here are the requirements:

• Must have passed at least JLPT level 3
• Must not be taking the exam on December 3rd
• Must be currently emoployed or is a Nihongo teacher – Students are not allowed.
• Must be available on the following dates and times:
  November 25 (Saturday), 2PM onwards, DLSU Manila
  December 2 (Saturday) 5PM, DLSU Manila
  December 3 (Sunday, exam day) 7am until end of exams, DLSU Manila

i told myself that if i pass 2kyuu, i’d get myself a new electronic dictionary. well, i did pass but i don’t have any money for my present *sigh* sometimes, it sucks being a yuppie…young urban poor!

anyway, i had my final exams for my german class yesterday and i think i’ll pass. ^_^ i didn’t guess any of my answers and i’m quite confident that i made it. ^_^

somebody sent me pictures of the pope again. naiiyak na naman ako…
